Restaurante Zizi was born in 1970, at Praia da Aguda. Manuel Ferreira, who arrived on the Gaia coast in 1965 after a life marked by the war in Angola, opened its doors with little investment and a great deal of determination. The name is the diminutive of Luzia, his first daughter. What began small became a landmark. Today, Zizi is run by Vera Ferreira, the founder’s daughter, who renovated the space in 2018 without losing what matters most: the produce, the welcome, and the dishes people have always loved.
Paula Cardoso has worked at the restaurant for 42 years. That says it all.
